Important
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you ("User" or "You") and LowLighter ("Company", "We", "Us", or "Our") for the use of the LowLighter desktop application ("Software"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Software.
License
1. Grant of License
Subject to the terms of this EULA, LowLighter grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the Software on devices you own or control
- Use the Software for personal or internal business purposes
- Access features according to your subscription plan (Free Trial, Basic, or Pro)
This license is valid only while you maintain an active account and comply with these terms. The license automatically terminates upon cancellation of your account or violation of this EULA.
2. Proprietary Rights & Ownership
The Software is proprietary and confidential. LowLighter and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including but not limited to:
- All source code, object code, and compiled binaries
- User interface designs, graphics, and visual elements
- Algorithms, processes, and technical implementations
- Documentation, marketing materials, and branding
- Proprietary features including Phantom Mode, GhostKeys, and Stealth Type
The Software is protected by copyright laws, international treaties, and other intellectual property laws. You acknowledge that no title to the intellectual property in the Software is transferred to you. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Software.
Restrictions & Usage
3. Restrictions
You expressly agree NOT to:
- Reverse Engineer: Decompile, disassemble, decrypt, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software or any part thereof
- Modify: Alter, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Software
- Copy: Reproduce, duplicate, or clone the Software except for reasonable backup purposes
- Distribute: Sell, resell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, or transfer the Software to any third party
- Republish: Make the Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices or users simultaneously without authorization
- Remove Notices: Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software
- Circumvent: Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features, license verification, or usage limits
- Compete: Use the Software to develop a competing product or service
4. Software Description & Features
LowLighter is a desktop application for Windows and macOS that provides an AI-powered overlay interface. Core features include:

- • Translate Mode — Multi-language translation
- • Rewrite Mode — Text reformulation (Pro)
Processing Engines
- • Fast Mode — Quick text-based processing
- • Auto Mode — Intelligent routing
- • Vision Mode — Screenshot analysis via AI
Stealth Features (Paid Plans)
- • Phantom Mode — Screen capture protection
- • GhostKeys — Low-level hotkey detection
- • Stealth Type — Keystroke simulation
Aesthetics (Paid Plans)
- • Ambient Frame — RGB border effects
- • Winter Frame — Snowfall animation
- • Custom overlay theming
5. Subscription Plans & Usage Limits
The Software is offered under the following plans:

Vision response limits reset on your billing cycle date. Unused responses do not roll over. Fast Mode responses are unlimited for all paid plans.
Services & Updates
6. Third-Party Services
The Software integrates with third-party services:
- OpenAI: AI processing for text and vision analysis. Subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Terms of Service.
You agree to comply with the terms of service of these third-party providers when using the Software.
7. Updates & Automatic Updates
The Software may automatically download and install updates from time to time. These updates are designed to improve, enhance, and further develop the Software and may take the form of bug fixes, enhanced functions, new features, or entirely new versions. You agree to receive such updates as part of your use of the Software. You may disable automatic updates in the Software settings.
8. Code Signing & Verification
The Software is digitally signed with valid code signing certificates issued by Apple (for macOS) and trusted certificate authorities (for Windows). These signatures verify the authenticity and integrity of the Software. Do not install or run any version of LowLighter that is not properly signed, as it may have been tampered with or is not an official release.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LowLighter disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranty that the Software will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
- Warranty of accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated responses
AI-generated content is for informational purposes only. Always verify important information independently.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
LowLighter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- • Your use or inability to use the Software
- • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- • Any third-party conduct or content
- • Any content obtained from the Software (including AI responses)
Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
11. Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. Your rights under this EULA will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms.
Upon termination:
- You must cease all use of the Software
- You must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession
- Sections on Proprietary Rights, Restrictions, Disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability survive termination
12. Governing Law & Disputes
This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for resolution of any disputes.
Any disputes arising under this EULA shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in California, unless otherwise required by local law.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER
YOU AND LOWLIGHTER AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Unless both you and LowLighter agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding.
13. Changes to This EULA
We reserve the right to modify this EULA at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated EULA on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Software after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated EULA.
14. Severability
If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this EULA shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
15. Export Compliance
The Software may be subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations maintained by the U.S. Department of Commerce and sanctions programs maintained by the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control. You represent and warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country subject to U.S. trade sanctions, or on any U.S. government restricted party list.
16. Entire Agreement
This EULA, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and LowLighter regarding the Software and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings.
